We’ve compiled a list of FAQs that we receive each year.  If you can’t find the answer to your question, please contact us.

On Garrison Bay, Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison Minnesota.

Tickets can be purchased online, at local retailers, at Friday Night Flight, or on the ice on contest day. Local retailers include:

Garrison Sports, Reeds (Onamia) Cub Foods in Brainerd and Baxter.

No, all holes are pre-drilled the morning of the contest. We do suggest bringing a chisel in case the hole ices over.

No, there are no houses, shelters or wind breaks of any kind allowed.  All fisher people and holes must be visible at all times.

Yes!   Garrison Sports will have tickets available on contest day, or buy them right on the lake. 

Yes, flashers are allowed during the contest.

Yes there are portable restrooms scattered throughout the contest area.

The contest runs from noon to 3:00PM on Saturday, February 19, 2022.  Gates open at 9:00.

Yes, as long as ice conditions allow we have plowed designated parking areas.
There is no driving or parking within the fishing boundaries though.

Yes, we have specific reserved handicap parking and driving service for those needing help getting to and from their vehicle.  Volunteers with Side by Side ATV’s can assist you if requested.

Yes, we have lots of raffles and games that you can play to win lots of great prizes.

The ticket you purchase gets traded for a fishing sticker, similar to a ski pass.  This is done at Friday Night Flight, or in the tent on contest day.

If you win a firearm, you will go to the Reeds fishhouse.  They will ship the gun to your local dealer, or take it to Reeds and you can complete the paperwork there at a later date.

We get on the ice at Garrison Sports.   Watch for signs. Once on the lake, we will have signage pointing you toward the contest area. 

Yes!  And feel free to participate in raffles and games.
